In traditional Chinese medicine &Taoist internal alchemy refer to the human body is said to contain three primary energy centers (stores), known as the Dantiens. These "elixir fields" are not physical organs but rather energetic centers that store, refine, and circulate Qi (vital life force).

This the same energy we know as reiki naturally created absorbed and stored for life functions, beside meditation, breath work .Tai chi reiki is  a strong tool to keep it functioning ate its best.

Each Dantien is associated with a different aspect of human existence— physical, emotional, and spiritual—and together, they form a holistic map of energy cultivation and inner transformation.

The three Dantiens are interconnected, and energy flows between them in a natural sequence:

Dantian

Location

Associated with

Lower Dantian

About 3 finger-widths below the navel, in the abdomen

(primordial essence, physical energy)

Middle Dantian

Center of the chest, at the solar plexus

Q(vital energy, emotions, thoughts)

Upper Dantian

Just above the eyebrows, in the forehead, sometimes called the "third eye"

 (spirit, consciousness)

Lower Dantien

Location: Deep in the lower abdomen, about 1.5–2 inches below the navel and a few inches inward, at the center of the body’s mass.

Primary Function: Stores and generates Jing (essence), the most fundamental energy that supports physical life. Acts as the foundation of health, stamina, and vitality. Primary power center in martial arts, Qigong, and breathing exercises.

Significance: Often described as the body’s battery, it is the starting point for internal energy cultivation. Strengthening this Dantien improves physical grounding, balance, and internal strength.

Middle Dantien

Location: Center of the chest, at the level of the heart and thymus gland.

Primary Function: Refines and circulates Qi, the life energy that supports breath, emotion, and organ function. Connects the physical body with the mind and spirit, acting as an energetic bridge.

Emotional Role: Known as the center of emotional Qi, associated with feelings like love, empathy, and joy. Cultivating this area promotes emotional balance, compassion, and heart-centered awareness.

Integration: Nourished by energy from the Lower Dantien and supports the development of the Upper Dantien.

Dantien

Location: Center of the head, behind the forehead between the eyebrows.

Primary Function: Refines Shen (spirit), linked to consciousness, insight, and spiritual awareness. Supports intuition, clarity of thought, and inner stillness.

Spiritual Significance: This is the center of spiritual energy. Cultivating the Upper Dantien can lead to heightened states of awareness, deep meditation, and connection with the universal mind or Tao.
